Sweet and Sour Chicken 19th Feb 18

As it was Chinese New Year over half term, we chose to have a Chinese dish today.

As we have cooked rice already, we thought we would try noodles with this recipe. The children were very excited to see what they looked and felt like before we cooked them, and how they changed. We also added lots of different Chinese vegetables that the children might not have tried before.


½ bag of cooked chicken breast (we use this as it’s easier than cooking it each time in club)

1 can sweet n sour sauce (we used Tesco Healthy Living)

½ packet of bean sprouts

½ tin bamboo shoots

½ tin water chestnuts

½ packet of baby sweetcorn.

1 packet of noodles.

Cook the noodles as instructed.

Chop the baby corn into pieces about 2cm big

Cook the chicken till it’s warm all the way through, and then add all the other ingredients. Stir, and serve over the drained noodles.
