Assistance Dog Training

Tuesday 4th of July 2017

Tuesday 4th July 2017

Dear Parents

Dog on site

I am writing to explain that one of our parents has recently become a recognised trainer of an assistance dog.  In time the puppy she is training will become an assistance dog for someone with a disability.  Having taken advice from the Local Authority, I can confirm that the puppy being trained has the privileges of, for example, a guide dog for the blind, and is therefore permitted to be on the site.

Having spoken with the parent who is training the puppy, she has requested that people do not ‘pet’ the puppy unless they have asked her permission.  The puppy has to get used to busy public places, but the trainer needs to decide the level of attention the puppy gets from individuals – very difficult as he is so adorable right now!

Thank you for your understanding in this matter.  If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

Yours sincerely

Mrs C.A.Clayton

Residential update - Friday 16th June

This morning the children got on a steam train. They explored a railway museum where they ate their lunch. They have got back on the steam train which will take them to Kidderminster to meet the bus!

We are expecting the trip back at 3.00pm but will contact you if there are any significant delays.

Residential update - Thursday 15th June

The children got a bit wet walking to the Tile Museum but dried off while they painted their own tiles. This afternoon they will explore the town of Iron Bridge. Tonight they will get into teams for a quiz!
